What is a Moka Pot?

A pot is steam partial stream Moka coffee that brews dark and very strong coffee. Many people also call it stove espresso maker, but this drink is not exactly the same as espresso, because the pressure of water going through the park is not high enough. Occasionally, you might come across the name, like "macchianetta" or "caffettiera" - these are just different ways of saying the two Moka pot.

Moka pots are three chambers devices: lower chamber isWater, medium filter funnel, where the coffee and go is the upper chamber, where the coffee lands. In addition, there is a filter plate that goes in front of the central pillar in the upper chamber and rubber seal that the hot liquid certainly not between the lower and upper chamber of the leak.

How does it work?

When heated, evaporating some of the water creating the steam that the pressure is high enough to reach the water from the lower chamber, the forceFunnel and filter through the coffee grounds in the upper chamber, where they gathered. Finally, if the lower chamber is almost empty, steam bubbles mix with the water to rise, creating gurgling, indicating that the coffee is ready.

How to make coffee with a Moka pot:

* The lower container filled with water so the level is lower than the safety valve. Not with more water than challenged. It is very important that the water below safety valve is that It offers to obtain release if the pressure is too high. If the valve is caused by too much water and the pressure is too high, your Moka pot can actually explode blocked.

You can use either hot or cold water, it's really a question of taste, and you can get some experimenting here to find the best solution for themselves. However it is recommended to use hot water because it is the time, the reasons are exposed to heat, which reduces the brew makes less bitter.

* Fill the filter with the funnel> Coffee grounds. Use a coarser grind something that you for regular coffee machine, because if the reasons they are also the fine holes in the filter and the water can not block with more. Nor does not clog the coffee grounds, because if the coffee is too narrow, it can also block the flow of water pressed. Stopper is not necessary as a result of the heat expands and create their own block. Instead of lightly tap the filter downwards, which helpsthe grounds evenly distributed.

* Screw in the upper chamber and place of the Moka pot on the stove. Use medium heat, as it can produce very high temperature of steam too fast. Keep the saucepan on stove until you hear a gurgling sound on. This means that the water is exhausted into the lower reservoir. Take the pan off the stove. Note that the metal surfaces and handles are very hot, so be careful when dealing with the pot. Your coffee is ready.

Enjoy!
